Reporting Allegations of Sexual Violence in the IDOC
Any person may report concerns of sexual violence and/or sexual misconduct on behalf of an IDOC incarcerated individual/client either verbally or in writing to:
Reporting

There is zero tolerance for sexual assault and sexual abuse.
Immediately report any incidents of sexual abuse or sexual harassment to staff or management. You have the right to be free from sexual violence / sexual misconduct and to be free from retaliation for reporting such incidents. Pursuant to IDOC Policy PREA-02, the Department will immediately investigate all reports of sexual violence / sexual misconduct and monitor for any retaliation of reporting.
Trained IDOC Investigators will conduct administrative investigations as appropriate. IDOC will refer all potential criminal allegations of sexual abuse or sexual harassment for investigation to an agency with the legal authority to conduct criminal investigations. Potential criminal allegations are referred by the following community confinement facilities to their respective community law enforcement agencies (as detailed below). Referrals by the prisons are made to the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation.
